Red-hot! Cincinnati wins seventh straight, expands NL Central lead

Homer Bailey pitched seven effective innings and Brandon Phillips had three hits and drove in all of Cincinnati’s runs in a 3-1 win over Los Angeles, as the Red snapped a 12-game skid at Dodger Stadium.

Bailey (3-2) allowed four hits and a run, walked two and struck out six, as the Reds won their seventh straight game overall and eighth in a row on the road. They widened their lead to 4 1/2 games over St. Louis in the NL Central.

Carlos Monasterios (3-4) was charged with eight hits and three runs — one earned — over 4 1/3 innings for the Dodgers, who have lost seven of their last 10 contests.
