Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Tanard Jackson has been reinstated by the NFL after serving a league-imposed suspension for more than one year due to violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
The Buccaneers will have two weeks to determine whether they want to activate Jackson to the active 53-man roster. He will be allowed to practice during that time.
Jackson was also suspended for the first four games of the 2009 season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
The 26-year-old has 278 tackles, eight interceptions and one sack in 46 career games with the Bucs after being selected in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft.
