Nebraska Cornhuskers defensive tackle Jared Crick will miss the remainder of the season with a torn pectoral muscle, head coach Bo Pelini announced Wednesday.
Crick played in five games for Cornhuskers (5-1, 1-1 Big Ten) this year. He did not participate in a September 24th victory over Wyoming after suffering an undisclosed injury against Washington a week prior.
“I feel extremely bad for Jared,” said Pelini. “He made an unselfish decision to come back to Nebraska for his senior year and earn his degree, which he did this summer. Jared has a bright future in front of him on the field at the professional level.”
Crick ranks seventh on the Cornhuskers with 22 tackles this season. He ranks eighth on the Nebraska career sacks list with 20, including 9 1/2 in both 2009 and 2010.
